There were Boxing Day celebrations in Lochaber last Friday – without a Christmas tree in sight.
The International boxing Association declared August 27 as its Boxing Day to mark the anniversary of its first World Amateur Boxing Championships 47 years ago in Cuba.
Clubs across the world were invited to participate and Lochaber Phoenix Boxing Club opened up its Corpach gym to everyone with an interest in finding out what it does at regular training sessions.
Junior and senior club members enjoyed demonstrating the many steps involved, from health and fitness to learning how to gradually build the experience to take them into the ring.
Coaches Aidan Donnelly and Emma Lauder guided the activities at all levels, with the members delighted to demonstrate the skills they have acquired.
For details on how to join the club, which is also a registered charity, and what sessions are available, check out their Facebook page.
