A man was allegedly assaulted by another man about 1pm on Friday August 20 in Bruichladdich, Islay. Subsequently, a man, aged 53, was arrested and charged with assault. The man was kept in custody to appear in court. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Breach of the peace
About 10.40pm on Tuesday August 17 in Combie Street, Oban, a man, aged 40, was arrested for allegedly behaving in a disorderly manner after being seen by police officers kicking the doors of a public house. The man was arrested and charged and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Thefts from boats moored at North Pier pontoons
Sometime between 11pm on Monday August 16 and 1.20am on Tuesday August 17, on the North Pier pontoons, Oban, unknown individuals tampered with boats at the location, removing fuel from one and stealing a dingy. Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Driving under the influence of drugs
About 9.45pm on Wednesday August 18, at Campbell Street, Oban, a man, aged 24, was observed by police crashing a motorcycle and running away from the scene. The man was arrested and a blood sample was taken for analysis. He has been charged with dangerous driving and possession of a controlled substance.
Possession of an offensive weapon
About 1.30am on Tuesday August 17, at George Street, Oban, officers observed a man, aged 21, act aggressively towards a group of people. He was then seen brandishing a baseball bat and knuckle dusters. The man was arrested and has subsequently been charged for allegedly possessing these items as well as alleged possession of a controlled substance. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sorting office broken into
Sometime between 5pm on the Monday August 16 and 4am on Tuesday August 17 the Royal Mail Sorting Office in Albany Street, Oban, was broken into. Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Abusive behaviour, assault and police assault
About 10pm on Saturday August 21, in George Street, Oban, police were called to a report of a man assaulting two other males. A man, aged 24, was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner towards door staff at a town venue and for two accounts of assault on the same individuals. Following arrest the man allegedly assaulted one of the officers. The man was charged with all the offences and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
