About 3.45pm on Tuesday August 3, at Miller Road, Oban, a male was stopped and searched by police under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A 51-year-old man was allegedly found to be in possession of a number of tablets believed to be a controlled substance. He was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 10pm on Sunday August 1, in Station Road, Oban, a man was allegedly assaulted by another man. A 25-year-old male was arrested in relation to this and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 11.15pm on Friday August 13, at the car park of the Columba Hotel, Oban, a 73-year-old man was stopped by police while driving his car. The man allegedly provided a positive breath test, was arrested and subsequently a blood sample was taken for analysis.
Police assault allegation
About 8.50pm on Thursday August 12, in Argyll Square, Oban, a man, aged 23, was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner towards police who had been called to an ongoing incident. Subsequently, following his arrest the man allegedly assaulted one of the officers. He was charged with both offences and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 8.45pm on Thursday August 12, at Station Road, Oban, an incident is alleged to have happened whereby two men in a white VW Scirocco have jumped out of the vehicle and attacked another male causing an injury. Police are investigating.
About 8pm on Saturday July 24, on the A874 near Bruichladdich, a red VW Golf car was allegedly seen by police to be driven in an anti-social manner. Subsequently, the 18-year-old male driver was traced and issued with an Anti-Social Behaviour warning.
About 11.40pm on Friday August 13, at the Bowmore Hotel, there was a report of a disorder between a number of individuals. Upon police arriving, a woman, 39, was seen to allegedly smash a window using an ash tray. She has been charged with vandalism and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Police are investigating.
