At St. Oran’s Church, Connel, on Saturday, July 31, 2021, by Rev. George Cringles, Elizabeth, only daughter of George and Morven Campbell, Taynuilt, to Michael, younger son of Robin and Jane Lawson, Erskine. A great day was had by all.

DOUGLAS – On Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at North Argyll House, Oban, aged 87, John Donald Douglas, beloved husband of the late Helen, dear father of Clare, Cameron, Linda and James, devoted grandpa/papa to all his grandchildren. Together with Helen again.

MACDONALD – Catriona. After a long illness, sadly passed away at her home in 452 Lochboisdale, South Uist on July 30, 2021, age 78, surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Calum, beloved mother of Donald John, Anne, Cathleen, Malcolm (deceased), Katie and George. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. The funeral took place in St. Peters, Daliburgh on August 3.

MACFARLANE – Peacefully on August 9, 2021 in his 94th year, Captain Niall Macfarlane (NLB retired), formerly of the Island of Coll. Beloved husband of Agnes, loving father of Colin and Alison, proud and loving papa of Roddy and John. Very sadly missed.

McALLISTER – Suddenly but peacefully on August 3, 2021 at the Belford Hospital, Jean McAllister née Buchanan. Loving wife of Billy, devoted mother to Eileen and Kenneth and much loved granny to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean was a well known friend to lots and will be sorely missed.

SINCLAIR – On July 22, 2021, peacefully at home, Anne (Nance) Euphemia Sinclair, née Muir, in her 83rd year, beloved wife of Iain Sinclair, much loved mother of Peter and Margaret, and a loving grandmother to David and Amy, a very well respected member of the community and dear friend of many. Sadly missed by all. Owing to current restrictions, a private funeral service and interment was held at Carrick Cemetery on Thursday, July 29.

MACPHERSON – (Alexander), Patrick, late of Fort William and Perth, WA. There will be a thanksgiving Mass in St Mary’s, Fort William, this Friday, August 13, 2021, at 7pm. All are welcome.

BELL – Charlie. Betty and family wish to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many flowers and cards received in his memory. Also those who paid their respects as the hearse left home. It was also lovely to hear that further afield Inveraray Shinty Club’s match was preceded with a minute silence. Thanks also to North Parish Church for a fitting service and prayers including those at St. Thomas Cemetery led by the Rev. Johannes Wildner.

SIMPSON – The family of the late William Duncan Simpson would like to thank ENABLE, Carers, Lorne Resource Centre, Wards I and B at the Lorn and Islands Hospital and Lorn Medical Centre for the care and support given to William. Thank you to the Reverend Dugald Cameron for conducting a very personal service and to Ian MacInnes of D&A Munn for compassionate and professional funeral arrangements, also to The Olive Garden for excellent catering. The tribute paid by Oban Fire Brigade was very much appreciated. A special thanks to them and to all friends and neighbours who paid their respects to William.

CAMPBELL – Precious memories of Kenny, devoted husband, dad, father-in-law and papa. Sadly passed away on August 10, 2018. Those we cherish never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives.

CHISHOLM – Sarah “Rae” King née MacMillan called to higher service on August 11, 2008.

DEMPSTER – Margaret (née MacIver). In loving memory of Nellie who blessed us with her presence from July 5, 1969 until August 9, 2010.
