Mull has made a good shot at keeping the Highland Games spirit alive and kicking on the island.

Instead of the official games being totally wiped off the calendar by Covid for another year, organisers put on an alternative event, reduced it in size and called it Mull & Islands Highland Gathering.

Mull man James Campbell, pictured, was just one of the competitors in the heavy section of the games that took place on Thursday July 22 in sizzling sunshine.
