Some exciting news at Lochaber RFC, where they have started ladies’ training again in the hope of resurrecting the ladies 1st XV.

There is already a good group of locals and students going along to training on a Tuesday evening at 7pm, and the Banavie club says no experience is necessary so just go along if interested.

Meanwhile, the men’s 1st XV are back at full training Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm as well and, with good numbers in recent weeks, everything is looking good for the start of the season.

They would also like to invite players old and new along. Again no experience necessary, just turn up. You never know you might enjoy it.

On Saturday August 7, Lochaber men’s and ladies’ teams will be making the short trip to Oban for their Tower 10s/day of rugby with the usual tournament shortened to just four clubs.

Then the men’s 1st XV renew old rivalries when they welcome a combined Highland RFC 2nd and 3rd XV to Banavie on August 14 followed by Moray RFC on August 21.

They will then have a week off before kicking off their league season when they welcome Loch Lomond RFC to Banavie on September 4.
