Arrested

Between 11pm on July 13 and 6am on July 14 at Bonawe Road, North Connel, a 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner and assaulting a woman. The man was charged and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

  • About 3pm on July 14, the man allegedly breached his bail conditions. He was arrested, charged and kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court the next day.

Charged

Police were called to Ulva Road, Oban, about 3.30am on Thursday July 15 to reports of a disturbance. A man, aged 29, was subsequently arrested for assaulting another man. He was charged and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Knife allegation

About 2.30pm on Friday July 16 in Taynuilt, police received a report of a man with knife behaving in a threatening and driving under the influence of alcohol. Police attended and quickly traced the vehicle nearby. The driver, a man aged 32, was searched and allegedly found in possession of a knife. He subsequently failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and charged for allegedly driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. A report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Assault allegation

About 8.45pm on Saturday July 10 at Longsdale Road, Oban, a man aged 23 allegedly assaulted a female. He was arrested, charged and a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Threw mobile phone

About 8pm on July 17 at Shore Street, Oban, a man, 52, allegedly behaved in an abusive manner and threw a mobile phone not belonging to him in the water. He was charged and a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Collision

About 10.10am on July 17 in Tesco Car Park, Oban, a silver Volkswagen Passat collided with a Suzuki motorbike causing damage to the handlebars. Police are investigating.
