Jonathan Barton, former vice principal of Ballet West, Taynuilt, appeared on petition at Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday July 14.

Barton, aged 39, has been charged with 16 sex offences including assault and rape, and indecent assault.

The press and public are not allowed into petition hearings and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service issued a statement last week following the court appearance saying that Barton made no plea and has been committed for further examination and released on bail.
