SPENCE – GUNN – At Oban Old Parish Church by Rev. John Turner and Rev. John MacLeod on July 3, 1971, Erik MacLeod to Margaret Gunn.

BUCHANAN – Marjorie, of Blanefield, Stirlingshire, formerly Fort William, died peacefully at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on June 30, 2021, aged 93. Private funeral service for family members only on July 20, 2021 at Stirlingshire Crematorium. No flowers. If desired, donations to Marie Curie.

CARMICHAEL – Peacefully at the Lorn and Islands Hospital on July 3, 2021, surrounded by her family, Katie Mary, in her 93rd year, beloved wife of the late Dugald (Dugie) much loved mum to Norman, Jonathan and the late John. Mother-in-law to Christine and Fiona. Cherished grandmother to John, Paul, Cheryl, Hannah and John and great-grandmother to Innes, Rose and Isla. Will be sorely missed. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired can be made to Oban High Free Church.

CHRISTIE – Peacefully after a short illness at the Mid Argyll Hospital, on June 29, 2021, Margaret Christie, née MacKinnon, aged 66 years of 10 Dun Mor Avenue, Lochgilphead. Beloved wife of the late Brian Christie (former Strathclyde Police). Much loved mum of Claire and Stewart, adored nana of Eilidh, Kalin, Lauren and James. A much respected mother-in-law of Scott and Sandra. Dear sister to Hilda, Duncan and the late Emily. A dear sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to all the family. A good neighbour, dear friend and former work colleague to many. A private family service will be held at Woodside Crematorium, Paisley on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
Donations can be made in memory of Margaret directly to Macmillan Nurses Mid Argyll or via Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors.

KIRKPATRICK – Peacefully at North Argyll Eventide Home on June 28, 2021, Heather, in her 76th year, dearly loved sister to Angus, much loved aunt to Alan and Gary and friend to many. She will be sadly missed.

McKILLOP – Peacefully at Perth Royal Infirmary on Friday, July 2, 2021, with his family by his side, Jim, beloved husband of Stella, loving dad of Colin, a dear father-in-law of Beverly and a much loved grandad to Poppy. Funeral service in Dunkeld Cathedral on Tuesday, July 8 at 2.30pm (limited numbers) but anyone who would like to pay their last respects to Jim may do so in the grounds of the cathedral. Private cremation thereafter. Donations if so desired to the Stroke Unit at P.R.I.

MONCRIEFF – Peacefully at the Mid Argyll Hospital with her family by her side, on Friday, July 2, 2021, Patricia Helen Moncrieff, in her 83rd year, of Dundorran, Inveraray. Beloved wife of Gerald, dearly loved mother of Bob and Colin; adored granma of Aidan, Kyle and Matthew. Much respected mother-in-law of Maureen and Rachel. A private family service will be held at Cardross Crematorium on Friday, July 9, 2021. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Pat’s memory directly to Macmillan Nurses or via Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors.

MUNRO – Gordon. Peacefully, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley on Friday, June 25, 2021, aged 78, Gordon, dear younger brother of Hamish in Wales and Ewen in Australia. He worked for the Clydesdale Bank in Tobermory, Fort William and Byres Road, Glasgow. Owing to the current restrictions a private cremation will take place on Thursday, July 8.

SCOTT – Margaret (Reita) (née Gilchrist). Desiree and Caroline would like to thank all family and friends for the many cards, floral tributes and kind messages of sympathy on the passing of Reita on Friday, June 25, 2021. Sincere thanks to Rev. Adam Dillon and to Sim & Son for their professional handling of the funeral arrangements.

SMYLIE – Douglas. The family Alma, Maureen, John and Aileen would like to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends and neighbours for their attendance at the funeral service at Cumlodden Parish Church, Furnace and Kilevin Cemetery, Crarae. Sincere thanks to the Rev. Dorothy Wallace for conducting such a poignant and moving service. Thanks to everyone at Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors who dealt with everything very professionally and sympathetically and for their care and compassion, which made a sad time a bit easier; also thanks to The George Hotel, Inveraray for the buffet afterwards. Thanks to all for their care of Douglas at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead and the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and flowers to the family and to all who in accordance with the family’s wishes donated to the Mid Argyll Macmillan Nurses. All your expressions of kindness and friendships at this delicate time is very much appreciated by Douglas’s family.
