Councillors have visited Oban High to show continued full support for headteacher Peter Bain and staff as the school brings in a ‘very comprehensive and ambitious’ improvement plan.
Argyll and Bute’s depute policy lead for education Councillor Kieron Green, along with the council’s depute provost councillor Roddy McCuish and leader of Oban, Lorn and the Isles Area Committee Elaine Robertson were invited to meet school staff and pupils on Friday.
‘We appreciate all the work and commitment that every member of staff has put in to
ensuring that each pupil has achieved their full potential during this very difficult time.
The head teacher and all who work at the school have our continuing full support for
the coming year as they implement a very comprehensive and ambitious School
Improvement Plan,’ said a statement from the three councillors.
During their visit, the councillors congratulated the pupils on the outstanding school assessment results they have just received.
The councillors have also invited the Senior Pupil Leadership Team to meet with them.
