Patients at Easdale Medical Practice have said a temporary goodbye to Dr Cathy Ford after six years of caring for remote communities, stretching from Seil to Arduaine and over to Luing.

The good news is that although Dr Ford has left the busy practice as a partner – she will be back as a locum in August.

Before becoming a partner there Dr Ford had already worked as a locum in the area for seven years.

To wish her well, she was thanked at a small farewell gathering on the island where she was presented with flowers and a hand-crafted sycamore bowl.

Practice manager Mary Phillips said: ‘She will be sorely missed but we are glad she will be returning to us!’
