MELLES – CAMPBELL – On July 9, 1971 at Newbattle Parish Church, by the Late Rev. McGhee, Janet to Iain. Present address: Oaklea, Erray Road, Tobermory.

CAMPBELL – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital on June 23, 2021. Mary (Molly) Campbell in her 97th year, beloved sister of Katie and the late Archie Campbell and much loved aunt and great aunt and a good friend to many. Funeral service will take place at Appin Parish Church on Thursday, July 8, 2021, 12.00 noon, burial thereafter at Old Appin cemetery. Family flowers only please. Regrettably the funeral is by invitation only due to current restrictions.

McALEER – Suddenly but peacefully at home on June 22, 2021, aged 92, Cecilia (Sheila) McAleer, beloved wife of the late Joe, dear mother to David and the late John. May her soul rest in peace.

SMYLIE – Suddenly, but peacefully, at Lorn and Islands Hospital, after a short illness, on June 22, 2021, Douglas Smylie, aged 76 years, of 8 Coille Mhinnean, Furnace, Argyll. Much loved husband of Alma. Adored Dad of Maureen, John and Aileen. Much respected father in law of David, Trisha and Surry. Cherished Papa of Matthew, Rachael and Kieran. Dear brother, uncle and cousin to all the family. A good neighbour, dear friend and popular work colleague to many. Much respected member of the local and wider communities. A private family service was held at Cumlodden Parish Church on Monday, June 28, 2021, followed by interment at Kilevin Cemetery, Crarae, Sadly missed.

BROWN – The family – Iain, Liz, Margaret and Patsi, wish to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expression of sympathy following their sad loss. For their attendance at the open air service at Duror Cemetery on June 22 and to everyone who lined the route from St. Munda’s Church. All cards, visits and offers of help were much appreciated. Grateful thanks to doctors and staff at Ballachulish Medical Practice, the carers who attended to Mary over the years, and Abbeyfield for their kindness to Mary, and a special mention to Anna. Sincere thanks to Rev. Charles MacKinnon for a wonderful and poignant service, also to the Laroch Bar and Restaurant for the buffet afterwards. Special thanks to Jamie at Manson and McBeath for his compassion and professionalism which helped make a sad time go without a hitch. His care and attention to detail was appreciated, and also to McDonald Bros for the floral arrangements. The retiral collection was taken for Abbeyfield, Ballachulish.
