Lochaber Yacht Club (LYC) safety team took to the water last weekend as the Off Beat Bikes crew trialled how challenging it would be to swim across Loch Linnhe.

Vince Dean and Steve Marshall, in the two ribs, teamed up with paddling members Lucy Burns, Keiron Shatwell and Victoria Kimber to take part in the extraordinary task on Sunday afternoon.

‘It was a beautiful day for it and everything went smoothly so no rescues were needed, thankfully,’ said an LYC spokesperson.

Nicky Sharrat was the first lady back, followed by Nix and Foss Forster. Shortly after Julie Corner and Penny Clay all arrived at the slipway at Lochaber Yacht Club.

‘A huge well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to our volunteer members for the part they played in keeping everyone safe,’ added the spokesperson.
