Lochnell Under-13s completed a successful first season of 11-a-side football by reaching the semi-final of the Glasgow and District Youth Football League Divisional Cup.
The team won all their sectional matches before securing an emphatic quarter-final victory over Cambuslang Colts at Pollock Country Park.
The semi-final tie saw the North Connel side travel to the Toryglen Regional Football Centre in Glasgow to face a strong and powerful Castlemilk Boys Club team. Despite a spirited performance that saw Lochnell play some terrific football, it wasn’t quite to be for the boys and girls in blue with goals from set-pieces proving the difference on the day.
The team will soon be going into their close season break but are looking forward to what will hopefully be a full lockdown-free season of league and cup games from August.
