Oban Bowling Club members have been embracing the reopening of their green with capacity attendance at weekend competitions and a good turn out for week night rinks.
The first competition of the season was the Caledonian Trophy balloted pairs with Peter Mackinnon and Sandra Grieve taking the title following a well contested final against Marian Carr and Anne Stewart.
Next up was the George Barnett balloted triples with Donald MacLean, Helen MacLean and Marian Carr getting the better of Peter MacKinnon, Rosemary Miller and Sandra Grieve in the final.
Following Argyll and Bute’s move into level two covid restrictions, the current bowling bubble which allows 30 players on the green at one time can now go up to 50, allowing more members to come out and enjoy the sport. Players can still only play in one bubble per day.
