What a week it has been for  good news! This week’s Oban Times brings you the incredible story of superbusker  Aidan MacLeod who saved a runaway toddler from plunging into the sea off Oban’s dockside just in the nick of time.We have another rescue story, this time about  a pet bullock saved from the slaughterhouse after a frantic Facebook appeal managed to find him a new home – he’s now settling in well with his new pet herd family at Kilchurn Castle on the shores of Loch Awe thanks to Kristina and Kenny Gray who took him in.
The Rockfield Centre is a step closer to its grand opening, staff have moved into their new office space, rooms are being kitted out and on-line activities and sessions will be starting in the re-furbed building as soon as Covid guidance allows.
Over in Dalmally, we have pictures from a huge community turnout to  wish sub-postmistress Gilli Chrystal a happy and healthy retirement as the village Post Office shut for good.

All this and more online and in this Week’s Oban Times and online
