Careless driving

About 8.50am on Tuesday May 11 a white flat-bed truck was seen to be allegedly driven in a careless manner on the A828 at Barcaldine, while overtaking another vehicle, causing pedestrians crossing the road to take evasive action. Police are investigating.

Vandalism 

Between 4pm and 7pm on Friday May 14, within the car park at Combie Court, Oban, a Silver Mercedes V Class car was damaged by having the driver’s door scratched. Police are investigating.

Speeding allegation

About 4.15pm on Tuesday May 18, on the A85 at Taynuilt, a motorist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The 40-year-old male driver was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Charged 

About 9pm on Tuesday May 19, at Tesco, Lochside Street, Oban, a 44-year-old woman  allegedly behaved in an abusive manner and assaulted a man. Police attended and arrested the woman who allegedly resisted and assaulted police. The woman was charged and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalism

Between 6pm on Monday May 17 and 3.30pm on Tuesday May 18 within the car park at Shuna Terrace, Oban, a Grey Nissan X-Trail was damaged by having the driver’s door scratched. Police are investigating.

Abusive behaviour 

About 11.30pm on Thursday May 20 at George Street, Oban, a 48-year-old man  behaved in an abusive manner. Police arrested him and he was subsequently issued with a Recorded Police Warning.

Drink driving allegation

About 6.30pm on Friday May 21, a car crashed into a ditch at South Cuan, Isle of Luing. Police attended and subsequently a man, aged 56, was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was charged with the offence and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalism 

Between 9pm on Friday May 21 and 1pm on Saturday May 22 at Kilchurn Castle, Lochawe, a security light was smashed. Police are investigating.

Collision

About 9pm on Sunday May 23 on the A85 at Connel, police attended to a one vehicle road traffic collision. The driver, a man aged 39, was subsequently arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was charged with the offence and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
