BLACK – Sadie of Connel, Argyll. Suddenly but peacefully at Oban Hospital on May 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Jimmy, much loved mum of Anne and Ken, loving gran of Rhoanna and Kenny. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed. BUCHANAN – Ann (née Brown) on May 16, 2021, age 63. Beloved wife of Gordon, Mum of John, sister and friend to many. 100 Nant Drive, Oban. Cremation private due to current restrictions. Will be sorely missed by everyone.
CARMICHAEL – Peacefully at home, 17 Millpark Avenue, Oban, on May 14, 2021, in his 95th year, Dugald (Dugie), loving husband of Katie for sixty nine years, much loved dad to Norman, Jonathan and the late John. Seanair to John K, Paul, Cheryl, Hannah and John D and seann Seanair to Innes, Rose and Isla. Father-in-law to Christine and Fiona. Will be sorely missed by all. Family flowers only. MACDONALD – Suddenly, on May 11, 2021, Peter, of “Fuaran”, Gallanach Road, Oban, beloved husband of Kay, dear dad of Donald and the late John, loving brother of Betty and brother-in-law of Ivor. Sorely missed.
McQUADE – John. Peacefully after a short illness on May 14, 2021 at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, beloved husband of the late Ann, dear brother and uncle. Will be sorely missed.
NORQUAY – Murdina, wife of the late William Norquay, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 3, 2021. Beloved mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. Dearly loved and sadly missed by her daughter Carol, the rest of the family, and all who knew her. Due to current restrictions, a private funeral will be held on Monday, May 24. STEWART – (Kingussie, formerly North Connel). Peacefully at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Anne Stewart (Anna) in her 97th year; beloved partner of the late Murray Smith. A private funeral service will take place on Friday, May, 21. CAMPBELL – Ursula and family would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to relatives and friends after all the lovely flowers, baking, cards and phone messages received after Charlie’s passing. We would also like to thank Ward B, Macmillan Unit, district nurses and ECT for all their care and a special thanks to Marie Curie nurses and Dr Ewan Glen. Thanks also to all who came to pay their respects at St. Modan’s Church and lined the road and graveside at Achnaba. Finally, the Rev. Willem Bezuidenhout for a very lovely service and all his help to the family, to Ellis Carmichael for the Eulogy, Sileas Sinclair organist and singer and to Dr Davis for bible reading. FRASER – Graeme would like to thank everyone who was invited to take part in Cass’s Celebration of Life, those who turned out on the day to pay their respects as she took her last journey through Oban and those that sent messages of condolence. Special thanks go to Ian and staff at D&A Munn for their compassion and professionalism and Alyson Stewart for telling Cass’s story with such love and humour. Thanks also to Dr Iain MacPherson of The Beatson, Dr Fiona MacLennan, Claire MacQueen, ECT and District Nurses and the staff of the Macmillan Day Bed Unit in Oban who all gave Cass such incredible care over the last 13 months of her life. Thanks also to our family, friends and colleagues who gave us such love and support and helped raise over £1,000 for the Macmillan Day Bed Unit in memory of Cass.
JACKSON – Isobel and the family of the late Ian, would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for the lovely cards, flowers, phone calls and expressions of sympathy. A special thank you to Duncan Gunn for his considerate and caring funeral arrangements, to Ross MacPherson for the beautiful music and to the Rev. Roderick Campbell for his lovely service. Over £300 in donations were received and will be split between the British Heart Foundation and Appin Parish Church.
MACKINNON – Ishbel and family would like to thank most sincerely all friends, family, and the local community for their kind expressions of sympathy and incredible support following the passing of Iain. Thanks to the medical staff, particularly at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, for their excellent care. The family would like to thank everyone who lined various streets to say their farewells to Iain – it was so special. Thank you also to everyone who has donated in Iain’s memory to MND Scotland – over £9000 has already been raised for this worthy cause. Finally, thanks to Rev Liz Gibson and Billy McClymont for all of their support, and for a wonderful service; also to Petals of Oban for the beautiful floral arrangement and to Park Lodge hotel for their refreshments and hospitality. PEARSON – June, Audrey, Gregor and the girls would like to thank all relatives and friends for all the kindness shown to them following the sad loss of Jim. We would also like to thank the following people from Lorn Medical Centre, Dr Emma Boyle, Dr Erik Jespersen and Dr Anne for such care and attention shown to Jim, also care shown by Claire, Donna and staff of the Macmillan Day Unit and all the lovely Community Nurses for showing such kindness and care to Jim. Helen and Annie of the ETTC for the help to Audrey and myself over the last few days of Jim’s life. Maddie from the OT for making sure that Jim was comfortable in his own home. Wee Boots chemist for their help and kindness. For all the beautiful baking and food to make sure we were eating, the gorgeous flowers and the numerous cards and phone calls. To the Rev. Dugald Cameron for the lovely service at both the church and graveside. To Petals of Oban for the lovely flowers. To the Royal Hotel for catering. Thanks to everyone who lined the streets to pay their respects to Jim. To Oban Celtic Shinty Boys for the Guard of Honour on his final journey to his resting place. To Duncan Forgrieve for the poem and the beautiful music played at Pennyfuir. Finally to the two Ian’s of D & A Munn Ltd and staff for all their care, support and professionalism shown to us all.
ROSS – Rosie, Aaron, Siobhan and all the family would like to thank everyone for their condolences, the many cards, floral tributes and attendance at the church and crematorium following the loss of Alexander (Colin). Thanks to John and his team at McLellan Funeral Directors for their professional handling of the arrangements and to the Revd. Richard Baxter for his comforting service at the church and crematorium. We would also like to thank the Loch Ness Lodge Hotel for the wonderful catering. Special thanks to Dr Jim Douglas and Dr Ian Pooleman whose care went far beyond the call of duty. STRATHIE – Jim and family would like to thank friends, relatives and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy, flowers, phone calls, food and visits following the sudden passing of Myra. Special thanks to Dr.Harris and her medical team and the paramedics Lorna and Gerrard for the care she received. David Carruthers for his kind and caring service.
