Vehicle seizure

About midday on Tuesday May 4, a car was stopped by police for a routine check, on Dunollie Road, Oban. Checks revealed that there was allegedly no insurance in force for the vehicle and the driver, a man (18) was charged with the offence and the vehicle was seized. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Stopped by police

About 3.30pm on Tuesday May 4 on Corran Esplanade, Oban, a vehicle was stopped and the vehicle and driver, a man (25) were searched. The man was then arrested for an outstanding warrant and for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs and subsequently a blood sample was taken for analysis.

Vandalism

Between 8.30am on Friday April 30 and 1.15pm on Tuesday May 4 at the Scottish Water Treatment Works, Observer Corps Road, North Connel, a gate was removed from the hinges and a control box damaged. Police are investigating.

Charged 

About 5.45pm on Wednesday May 5, a vehicle was located by police parked on Lochnell Road, Dunbeg. Checks revealed that the vehicle allegedly had a Statutory Off Road Notification, No MOT Test certificate or valid Insurance certificate. The owner, a man (39) was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vehicle seized

About 9.20pm on Wednesday May 5 at Bonawe Road, North Connel, a car was stopped by police for a routine check which revealed  there was allegedly no insurance in force for the vehicle and the driver, a man (24) was charged with the offence and the vehicle was seized. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Windscreen smashed

In Ellenabeich, Isle of Seil, the windscreen to a Silver Volvo V50 motorcar was smashed on March 2. The incident was reported on May 6. Police are investigating.

Theft 

Between midday on Friday April 16 and midday on Thursday May 6 at the A85, Strathorchy, near Dalmally, a Machine Road Roller and crushing bucket for a digger, worth £27,000, was stolen. Police are investigating.

Vehicle damaged 

Between 5pm and 6pm on Friday April 30 at Kerrera Terrace, Oban, a Black Seat Ibiza was damaged by having the front offside bumper struck by another vehicle which failed to stop and report the collision. Police are investigating.

Attempted housebreaking

Between midday on Tuesday May 4 and midday on Wednesday May 5, there was an attempted break-in at a house in Skerryvore Gardens, Oban. A door was damaged but no entry was gained and no items were stolen. Police are investigating.

Drug search

About 9.30am on Thursday May 6, a property at Combie Court, Oban, was searched by police under warrant. A man (43) was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled drug which has been sent for further analysis.

Fence damaged 

About 2.15pm on Thursday May 6 at the A828, Benderloch, a white van collided with a fence post and the driver failed to stop and report the collision. Police are investigating.
