PARKIN/HORNER – Forres/Inverlochy. Alan Parkin would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of regret at the death of my wife Jane, better known in Lochaber as Jean Horner, all indicating their high regard for her. The Reverend George Baxter kindly made the Duncansburgh church in the Parade available for a family service and conducted an inspiring service for us together with a wonderful Eulogy of her life which was very much appreciated. Following the church service Jane was interred in her parents lair in Glen Nevis cemetery with prayers by the Reverend Baxter, the family thank him very much. The maximum allowed to do so attended the service but many more of her friends in Lochaber and in several other countries watched the live video of the service transmitted on the church website and have expressed their appreciation at being able to do so. I offer my thanks to the church organist and the flower arranger for their contribution to the service. I also wish to thank Susan MacDonald of the council office at Carr’s Corner for her considerable help and advice to me in making the necessary arrangements for the Glen Nevis lair use. Jane will live long in the memory of those who knew her and will be much missed by her family and friends.
