The committee of Glengarry Highland Games, due to take place on Saturday July 3, has announced the cancellation of this year’s  event.

A spokesperson said: ‘We held off as long as possible, but major uncertainties over restrictions and social distancing left us little option but to cancel.

‘Next year is our 50th anniversary and we are hoping this can go ahead. We are looking to contact people who have been involved in the Games over the years, especially those who might have been involved in 1972.’
