Libraries in Stornoway, Tarbert, Liniclate and Castlebay have re-opened for browsing.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has opened the branches with reduced hours and in line with the latest Scottish Government Covid guidelines.

People are asked to please continue to wear a face covering when visiting the library, sanitise their hands on entry and keep a two metre distance at all times.

For those not be ready for browsing yet, libraries are still offering a connect and collect service. People can either request books or leave it to library staff to select books for them.

The mobile libraries Lexy and Lachaidh are visiting homes as usual and library customers can also choose whether they would like to browse the shelves or receive a drop-off bag of books to keep them going.

It is also now possible to use the computers at most libraries but these must be booked in advance.

Visit the comhairle website to see the current library opening hours and contact details.
