Wild swimming is a popular pastime for many in our area, but Oban Times reader Alexander May was so surprised to see one adventurous swimmer taking the plunge at Dunollie this week, that he caught it on camera.

He told us: ‘I was walking to work from Ganavan and spotted a deer of all things in the water near Dunollie Castle and filmed it swimming all the way to Kerrera.

‘It might have been stuck on the mainland side and decided to try elsewhere. It was quite something – two inquisitive seals were shadowing the deer most of the way.’

We hope the video will make you smile.
