DEATHS
CATHRO – Robina (Bobbie), née Salisbury Jones. Peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021, aged 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Dennis Cathro and much loved Mum to Lynn and Alan and grandparent to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private funeral service to be held at Pennyfuir Cemetery, Oban on Tuesday, May 4 at 1.00pm, family flowers only please.

JACKSON – Peacefully at home on April 24, 2021, surrounded by family after a brave battle, Yvonne Helen, dearly beloved wife of John Jackson, beloved mother of Sarah, Christopher and David, and a loving Nana. Daughter of Eleanor and the late Norris Belcher. Funeral service on Friday, April 30 at 1p.m. Appin Parish Church thereafter to Appin cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired to Macmillan Nurses Oban c/o Duncan Gunn Undertaker, Tynribbie, Appin. Covid restrictions apply.

MACDONALD – Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 26, 2021. Iain MacDonald, 5 Mason Road, Inverness, aged 79 years. Born South Uist. Beloved son of the late Catherine and Donald Allan, greatly loved father to Iain, much loved brother, missed by all the family and many good friends. Funeral service on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11.00am in the Funeral Home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness under eased Government guidelines. Family flowers only please. Donations invited for the Highland Hospice and Marie Curie via Funeral Directors. Funeral will stream from www.williamtfraserandson.co.uk/live-stream.

MACKINNON – Peacefully, on April 20, 2021, at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, Alda, much loved sister and aunt. A graveside service will take place at Kilpatrick Duart Cemetery, Isle of Mull, on Thursday, May 6 at 12noon. The funeral service will be private following government guidelines.

MACLENNAN – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on April 22, 2021, aged 77, Arthur MacLennan, beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandpa. Sorely missed.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
BALLANTINE – The family of the late Jim Ballantine would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy, flowers, phone calls and messages of support received following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to Rev. David Carruthers for his personal and uplifting service; to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for their attentive and caring arrangements, and to Morna for beautiful floral tributes. We would like to extend our thanks to all in the local community who turned out to pay their respects to Dad on his final journey from Ardrishaig Parish Church to Achnabreac Cemetery. He will be sorely missed by many. Finally, grateful thanks also to the local doctors, nursing staff and care teams who attended to Jim during his illness.

GRANT – George, Carolyn and John would like to thank everyone for their support, phone calls, cards and flowers following the loss of Susan. To all the staff at Care at Home, Ballachulish Medical Practice and Abbeyfield Care Home. We are eternally grateful for your loving care of Susan. For his home visits and lovely graveside service, we thank the Rev. Sandy Stoddart, also Ian MacKenzie, St John’s Ballachulish, McLellan Funeral Directors for their professionalism and to everybody who paid their respects as Susan made her final journey.

MACKENZIE – We would like to express our thanks and gratitude for all the lovely cards, flowers and messages of condolence we received after Dad (Naggy) passed away. Also to all who came to pay respects as he took his final journey through the village and at the Churchyard. Thank you to Manson and MacBeath for funeral arrangements and to Revd. Amanda Fairclough for the lovely service and her kindness. To Ian MacPhee for the wonderful tribute he wrote for Dad. From the heart, thank you all.
