At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall, However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free.

JACKSON – Peacefully at home on April 24, 2021, surrounded by family after a brave battle, Yvonne Helen, dearly beloved wife of John Jackson, beloved mother of Sarah, Christopher and David, and a loving Nana. MACDONALD – Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 26, 2021. Iain MacDonald, 5 Mason Road, Inverness, aged 79 years. Born South Uist. Beloved son of the late Catherine and Donald Allan, greatly loved father to Iain, much loved brother, missed by all the family and many good friends. Funeral service on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11.00am in the Funeral Home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness under eased Government guidelines. Family flowers only please. MACKINNON – Peacefully, on April 20, 2021, at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, Alda, much loved sister and aunt. A graveside service will take place at Kilpatrick Duart Cemetery, Isle of Mull, on Thursday, May 6 at 12noon. The funeral service will be private following government guidelines.
MACLENNAN – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on April 22, 2021, aged 77, Arthur MacLennan, beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandpa. Sorely missed.
BALLANTINE – The family of the late Jim Ballantine would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy, flowers, phone calls and messages of support received following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to Rev. David Carruthers for his personal and uplifting service; to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for their attentive and caring arrangements, and to Morna for beautiful floral tributes. We would like to extend our thanks to all in the local community who turned out to pay their respects to Dad on his final journey from Ardrishaig Parish Church to Achnabreac Cemetery. He will be sorely missed by many. Finally, grateful thanks also to the local doctors, nursing staff and care teams who attended to Jim during his illness.
GRANT – George, Carolyn and John would like to thank everyone for their support, phone calls, cards and flowers following the loss of Susan. To all the staff at Care at Home, Ballachulish Medical Practice and Abbeyfield Care Home. We are eternally grateful for your loving care of Susan. For his home visits and lovely graveside service, we thank the Rev.
