At the start of the pandemic in March we took the decision to make online access to our news free of charge by taking down our paywall. At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall, However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free.

Craignure Golf Club is driving forward again having hosted a few restricted competitions for island golfers over the last month.


Texas Scramble, Saturday April 17: 1 Donny Morrison, Adrian Fitness and Brian Macrae, nett 57; 2 Pat Wilson, Steve Wilson, James Campbell and Frankie Davie (58); 3 Julian Hayward, Scott McCracken and Fred McLean (59).

Combination Cup, Sunday April 11: 1 Steve Wilson, 39 points; 2 Bobby Lawson (38); 3  Donny Morrison (37).

April Medal, Sunday April 4: 1 Steve Wilson, nett 65; 2 Adrian Fitness (66); 3 Scott McCracken (66).

‘We are looking forward to a lot more golf and hopefully a lot more sunshine in the coming months,’ said club secretary Barry Whenman.
