ALLWARD – WALLACE – Both families are delighted to announce the engagement of Ross to Alison of Keil, Duror of Appin.
CAMPBELL – George Duncan Campbell. Peacefully on April 2, 2021 in Colinton Care Home, Edinburgh. George, much loved husband of Kathleen, loving father to Gillian and Duncan, father-in-law to Scott and Mari and adored grandfather to Freya, Laila, Kirsten and Blake. George, born Thurso, worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland all of his life in various areas of Scotland including Kirkwall, and latterly Oban and Islay. Former member of the Oban Pipe Band. George will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Due to the current restrictions, a private family service will take place.
McFEAT – With great sadness and unexpectedly, Alexander McFeat, passed peacefully at the Bellfied Centre, Stirling on March 26, 2021 at the age of 89. Loving husband of the late Jane Connelly, beloved father of Amanda and her partner Duncan; brother to James, the late Margaret and Moira. Alex spent two happy years at the RBS in Lochboisdale 1955-1957, zipping up the roads on his motorbike, as well as enjoying golf and fishing. Latterly, he was an active member of Stirling Golf Club and Borsetone & Stirling Curling Club; fished on River Earn for many years and was a long time employee of the Royal Bank of Scotland. He will be sadly missed. Due to current restrictions, a private funeral will be held at the Park Church in Stirling at 11am on Friday, April 9 and the Stirling Crematorium thereafter.
LAMONT – Archibald. The Reverend Archie Lamont, formerly of Taynuilt and Whitehouse, passed away peacefully at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, on March 31, 2021 in his 94th year. Much loved father, Seanair and Sean-seanair. The funeral service will take place at Muckairn Parish Church, Taynuilt, at 12.30pm on Wednesday, April 14 and thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Sadly due to Covid restrictions attendance is limited to those invited. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Multiple Sclerosis https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate
WILSON – Suddenly but peacefully, on March 15, 2021, at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, after a short illness, aged 73 years, Douglas Wilson, Ardbrecknish, much loved father, grandfather and brother. Funeral service will be private following government guidelines. A celebration of Douglas’s life will be held at a later date.
MACCOLL – The family would like to thank everyone for their support, phone calls, cards and flowers following the loss of Anne. We would also like to thank the carers who looked after her when she was at home and all the staff at Bankview Care Home, Banknock. Thanks also to Liz Gibson for her lovely graveside service and to Billy McClymont for his sensitive and professional funeral arrangements. Finally thank you to everyone who paid their respects at the roadside and at Pennygown Cemetery.
MACLEAN – Donna. Andrew, Alex, Donald, Helen and family would like to extend our grateful thanks for the many kind words of condolence and support received since the sudden loss of Donna. We would like to thank most sincerely all who paid their last respects as the funeral cortège passed through the town. The response was overwhelming and much appreciated. Thank you to D&A Munn for professional guidance, to Petals for the beautiful purple themed wreaths, organist Ken Moncrieff and Rev. D. Cameron for a perfect family service. Donna will forever be in the hearts of so many.
WILSON – Morag, Margaret, Fiona and Rhona would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their love, support and many kind gestures after their sad loss of Cameron. Special thanks to the doctors, Morvern Medical Practice, District Nurses and Lochaber Care and Repair for their professionalism and response to Cameron’s care. The family would further wish to thank the Directors and Staff of Lochaline Quartz Sand for their continuous and caring support throughout Cameron’s short illness. Heartfelt thanks to John McLellan Funeral Directors for their support and sensitivity during this time. Finally, many thanks to everyone who paid their respects as the funeral cortège passed through the village of Lochaline.
