It was with sadness and much regret that Glenfinnan Highland Gathering committee announced the cancellation of this year’s event due to take place on August 21.

After careful consideration, the decision to cancel was taken last week due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing regulations.

A committee spokesperson said: ‘Although things are improving with the vaccine rollout there can be no guarantee as to what the situation will be like in August and these events need careful planning.

‘We are very sorry to have to make this announcement but these are difficult times and the health and wellbeing of our community and visitors has to be our main priority.’

Focus has now shifted to planning for the 2022 gathering which will take place on Saturday, August 20 next year when the committee looks forward to welcoming everyone.
