At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. MACVICAR – ROSS – Alasdair to Mary on April 3, 1971 at Colston Parish Church Glasgow. Tigh an Obe, Auchendarroch, Ardrishaig.
GREALEY – (1921-2021), Ella Rodger, née McGibbon, on March 19, 2021, passed peacefully at home in Wordsley, West Midlands, in her 100th year. Survived by Margaret, Andrew and Dawn, and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
MACCOLL – On March 21, 2021, peacefully at Bankview Care Home Banknock, Anne Porter MacColl (née Mitchell) of Fanmore, Isle of Mull, in her 80th year, beloved wife of Angus, cherished mum of Campbell and daughter-in-law Sharon, much loved gran of Morvern and Isla. Will be greatly missed.
MATHESON – Peacefully on March 24, 2021, Elizabeth Matheson (née Cameron) aged 86. Resided many years in Oban and latterly in Perth. Beloved wife of the late John (Ian) Matheson, much loved mother to Mary, Ann, Joan, Elsa and Hector, caring mother-in-law to Alec, Andy, Emma and the late Donald. A precious and loving Granny to Julia, David, Allan and Holly, a dear sister to Hugh, Kirsty, Donald and the late Mary, Allan and Norman. Sadly missed.
MCARTHUR – Elma. Suddenly on March 21, 2021, Elizabeth May Fleming, aged 83. Beloved younger daughter of the late James and Isabella McArthur of Tiree and Dunoon. Loving sister of the late Christine MacKay. Will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be held in the High Kirk, Dunoon at 12 noon on Monday, April 5 followed by interment on Tuesday in Kirkapol, Tiree. Receptions in her memory will be held when restrictions allow.
McLUCKIE – Peacefully at home on March 26, 2021, Ian Brown, aged 74 years. Beloved father to John and Lorn, much loved grandpa to Calum, Finlay, Hamish and Molly, and cherished family member. His humour and outlook on life will be sadly missed by family, friends and those who cared for him. Family flowers only. Donations if desired may be made to Tom Ritchie at Affinity Trust (email@example.com – 01631 571311) to help improve the quality of life for those supported by the charity.
CAMPBELL – Rose, 1944-2021. The family wants to thank everyone for all their support at this very difficult time. We especially want to thank all the carers for their laughter and love. The community nurses, the staff in Boots Pharmacy, Tweeddale Medical Practice (especially Jim Douglas) and the doctors and nurses in the Belford Hospital. Thank you to our friends, family, and neighbours, a special thank you to Alastair Smyth, Jean Lister, Evelyn Larvin and Molly Roy. Amanda, John and all the team at McLellan Funeral Directors for all their help and support and all the Macmillan Nurses Team (especially Sheelagh). Rose will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
CAMPBELL – Leslie, Nigel and James would like to thank sincerely family, friends and neighbours for the cards, phone calls, messages and flowers following the loss of their beloved mum Margaret, a devoted wife to the late Calum, dear mother-in-law and granny. Thanks also to Catriona and staff at Hamish Hoey and Sons for sensitive and professional funeral arrangements. To Rev Dugald Cameron for his service in the church and at the graveside, John Simpson for the eulogy, Jamie MacGregor for piping at the church and cemetery and to Andy Henderson organist. Thanks also to the people who paid respects as the cortège went through the town.
COUPLAND – Frazer, Heather and Ailsa would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kindness after the death of their Mother, Helen Margaret Coupland. The phone calls, messages and flowers were all very gratefully received. It is a great comfort knowing how much Helen was cared about. A much-loved Mum, Granny and friend. Many thanks to the friends, family and carers who looked after her when she was at home and Nurses and Doctors who cared for her in the Hospice in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for her care in her last days. A special thank you to McLellan Funeral Directors for their funeral notice here in Fort William as her funeral was in Durisdeer near Thornhill, Dumfries-shire. Thanks to all who attended the service and those unable to due to current restrictions. A celebration of Helen’s life will be arranged when restrictions are no longer in place allowing those who knew and cared about her to get together. The date has yet to be arranged.
