Beauty therapist Dawn McBay has reasons to be cheerful this week after winning the 2021 Tesco Oban trolley dash competition run through the Oban Times.
Dawn, from Connel, can usually be found working at Saint Saviour Spa and Beauty on Stevenson Street but is currently stuck at home due to the latest round of Covid restrictions.
Finding out she had won the chance to fill her shopping trolley with up to £200 worth of goods, however, has put a shimmer on her week.
‘I had sort of forgotten about it to be honest so it was a lovely surprise when I received the phone call on Monday to say that I had won,’ said Dawn, who also acts as a sole carer to her mum.
‘It has really brightened up my week and given me something to look forward too.’
All Dawn had to do was collect four tokens over four weeks from December 12 and get her entry in by January 9 to be in with a chance to win. No problem at all to the regular Oban Times reader.
‘I get the paper every week so collecting the tokens wasn’t a problem at all,’ she added.
Included on Dawn’s shopping list are a couple of fillet steaks and some not so healthy treats while she will also be sharing her good fortune around by picking up some extras for Hope Kitchen and north Argyll’s cat charity Small Paws.
