At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall, However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free.

BLACKWOOD – Peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Roxburghe House Hospice, Aberdeen, after a long illness bravely borne, Sandra née Macintyre, beloved wife of John, adored mother and loving sister of John and the late Mary.
CAMERON – Magnus, aged 72, died suddenly at Wishaw General Hospital on December 8, 2020, beloved husband of Morag and father of James and Gillispie and grandfather of Jamie and Kirsty. Sadly missed by all.
CAPEWELL – Annie Wylie (née Simpson). Formerly of Mossfield Drive, died peacefully at Eadar Glinn Care Home on December 11, 2020, aged 97 years. Loving wife of the late Arthur, beloved mother to Irene and the late Duncan, cherished grandmother to Iain and the late David, much loved great-grandmother to Jack, Jordan, Alexander, Thomas, Sophia and Harry. Also a much loved and special auntie. Annie was the last remaining child of the late Duncan and Annie Simpson, Knipoch Place, Oban. Rest in Peace.
EDWARDS – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Flora Edwards née MacFadyen, in her 87th year, Park Terrace, Campbeltown and formerly of Front Row, Drumlemble on December 13, 2020, beloved wife of the late Jimmy Edwards loving mother of Cathrine, Carole, Janet, Tracy and Gillian and a proud gran and great-gran. Forever in our hearts.
MACLEAN – At home with his family on December 10, 2020, after a short illness bravely borne, Ian much loved husband of Margaret, Dad to Ann, Sandra and the late Ian. Proud Gen to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sorely missed. Family flowers only. In line with current restrictions a private funeral will take place on Thursday, December 17 at 10.00 a.m. at St. Columba’s Cathedral, Oban. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so, whilst maintaining a social distance. The cortege will leave the Cathedral at approximately 11.00 a.m., travelling along the Esplanade, up past the Corran Halls, en-route to Pennyfuir Cemetery.
NISBET – Alex, died suddenly on November 26, 2020. Beloved husband of Marion, father of Helen and Billy, father-in-law of Juliet and Margo and grampa to Lily and Alice. Much loved. Formerly of Hydro Board in 1980’s.
BEATON – Fond memories of my mother, Bella, who passed away on December 19, 2016. Also remembered my father, Veek, who passed away on March 6, 1999, much loved Granny and Granpa.
