Upper Achintore Regeneration Group has sourced a real Christmas tree for the Lochaber Road/Zetland Avenue junction and is giving a local youngster the chance to switch on the lights during the first weekend of December.

The switch-on event will be live streamed to the group’s Facebook page and it will have a photographer there to take pictures.

It will be a quiet, socially distanced switch-on event with just a few committee
members and the winning child’s family present.

The competition is open to all nursery/primary school age children who live in Upper Achintore.

The challenge is to draw a picture of a Christmas tree then have a parent/guardian post a photograph of it with the child’s age on the group’s Facebook page in the comments section. No children’s names on pictures please as this is a public page that anyone can see.

The picture with the most likes will be the winner. Get drawing children!
