At the start of the pandemic in March we took the decision to make online access to our news free of charge by taking down our paywall. At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. In order to help safeguard the future of our journalism, the time has now come to reinstate our paywall, However, rest assured that access to all Covid related news will still remain free.

At approximately 5pm on November 7 at Boots the Chemist, George Street, Oban, a 39-year-old man allegedly tried to steal cosmetics. He was charged and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
At about 10.15am on November 9 at Glenshellach Road, Oban, a woman, 24, allegedly used a public communication network to cause fear and alarm to another woman. She was charged and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 9.30am on November 10, a house at Soroba Road, Oban, was searched by police. A 22-year-old man was allegedly found to be in possession of cannabis, he was charged and a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Between 5pm and midnight on November 11 at Scalpay Terrace, Oban, damage was caused to a flat door. Police are investigating.
Between 8.45am and 11.30am on November 10 at Dalriach Road, Oban, damage was caused to the front passenger side of a parked White BMW 118 car. Police are investigating.
At about 2.30pm on November 12 at Tesco car park, Oban, damage was caused to Grey Nissan X Trail car. Police are investigating.
About 6.20pm on November 14 at Powell Place, Connel, a man, aged 83, allegedly drove a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The man allegedly provided a positive breath test, was arrested and subsequently a blood sample was taken for analysis.
At approximately 12.30am on November 14 at Fionnphort, Isle of Mull, a man, aged 42, allegedly assaulted a woman. The man was arrested and charged and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
