At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. BINNIE – Suddenly at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, after a short illness courageously fought, Deborah dearly loved wife to Lorne, devoted mother to Jensen, Brodie and Arden, daughter of Janet and Callum Robertson, sister to Pamela and auntie to Alex and Gabriella, forever in our hearts. A private funeral will take place in accordance with current government guidelines. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so, whilst maintaining a social distance. The cortege will leave Balvicar Road at 12.30 pm travelling down Soroba Road, along Combie Street, through Argyll Square, onto George Street, along the Esplanade and up past the Corran Halls, en-route to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers should be made in Deborah’s memory to Breast Cancer Support (https://breastcancersupport.org.uk/donate), should you wish to do so.
CAMPBELL – Peacefully at home in Calgary, Isle of Mull on November 2, 2020, Dugald McKechnie Campbell, aged 94 years. Beloved husband of Morag (née) MacVicar, father of Duncan and Alison, grandfather of Iona and Ian. Youngest son of the late Archibald and Mary Campbell, latterly of Silvercraigs. Funeral service was held at Cardross Crematorium on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
LOWE – Peacefully at Etive House Care Home, Benderloch on November 3, 2020, aged 84 years, Jeanne, dear wife of William, beloved mother of Donald, Joanne and Simon, much loved grandma of Vivian and Mark, a dear sister, aunt and friend to many. May she rest in peace.
MACIVER – Jemima (Mima) née MacMillan, peacefully in Inverness on November 6, 2020 aged 83 years. Former Guest House proprietor at Loudon, Dalriach Road, more recently of Shore Street, Oban. Devoted mother to Pauline and Jenny. Treasured friend, granny, sister and aunt. Due to current restrictions, funeral private. Arrangements by DA Munn, Funeral Directors, Oban.
SWANN – Peacefully on November 8, 2020 at Mandurah, Western Australia, Jessie Rowan Swann née Menzies. Beloved wife of the late Roy, eldest daughter of the late Alexander and Flora Menzies, Glenroy, Oban. Cherished mother, grandmother and much loved sister. Sorely missed.
BOA – The Boa family from Dervaig on the Isle of Mull wish to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their kindness, cards, messages, flowers, phone calls and expressions of sympathy which was hugely appreciated following the sad passing of Lorna MacColl Henry Boa. Special thanks to the local community who were scattered at all locations as Lorna made her final journey to Keil, Morvern, and to our local nurses (who always brightened Lorna’s day), the staff at Mull and Iona Community hospital and Lorn and Islands hospital for their care, the ambulance and air ambulance services, Billy at Mull Funeral Service, the crews on the Isle of Mull ferry and the Lochinvar ferry (Lochaline), the Lochaline Hotel for a lovely lunch and to Michelle, Heather and Maggie for the beautiful funeral favours.
LAWRIE – Elizabeth (Betty) Lawrie. Passed peacefully at home on October 13, 2020. The family would like to thank the District Nurses, Care at Home staff, Crossroads staff, the local G.Ps. Belford Hospital, Ambulance staff, neighbours and friends for their care, support and kindness shown during and after Mum’s illness.
MACLEOD – The family of Christina MacLeod would like to thank friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy by cards, flowers, phone calls and messages received following bereavement. Thanks also to all those who lined the road on the day of the funeral. Special thanks to the Rev Dugald Cameron, Ian of D&A Munn, piper Donnie Files and The Thistle and The Rose for the floral arrangements. Lastly sincere thanks to nurses and council staff who daily assisted and made Christina’s last days so much more comfortable.
