Argyll and Bute planners have passed a scheme to build houses on the way into Soroba despite objections.

Bus stops on either side of the road, heavy traffic from the Soroba Estate plus traffic from Nant Drive and issues with burst water pipes were included in objections. Oban community councillors also opposed the application to build the two homes with detached garages and vehicular access on land south of Bankhead on McCaig Road.

Community council chairperson Marri Malloy warned: ‘This is an accident waiting to happen.’
