More than £1,000 has already been raised for Royal British Legion Scotland’s Easdale Branch by wellwishers supporting a sponsored hike by one of its members.

Willy Munro plans to walk from Ellenabeich to Degnish via Ardmaddy and back through the Pass of Melfort to Kilninver then home to Seil over Clachan Bridge on Wednesday October 7.

The trek is about 25 miles and in a bid to up the fundraising goal to £2,000 people are being invited to guess just how long it will take him to complete – in hours, minutes and seconds – the closest winner will get a special bottle of malt whisky.

Anyone wanting to have a go should donate to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/willys-wander, adding their name and estimated time for the finish time in the comments section on the page.

Or people can make a donation in an envelope with  their name and estimated time for the challenge and just pop it in the donation box at Balvicar Stores.

All proceeds from Willy’s Wander will be donated to Forces Charities and the work of the Easdale branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland.
