DEATHS
COATES – Derek F. Coates who passed away on August 26, 2020. A loving dad to Alisdair, to his stepchildren and the best grandad. He fought a good fight and passed away at home in the loving arms of his wife Sandra. We miss him every day. The Power of Love.
DAVIES – Peacefully at Cowal Community Hospital on September 10, 2020, Geraint James Davies of 17 Cruachan Cottages, Taynuilt. Loving partner of Jean Sim, brother of Gwen Duff and uncle to Marc and Sally. A private funeral service will be held at Muckairn Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2020. He will be sorely missed.
MACNAB – Renee, peacefully at Auchmacoy Lodge, Ellon on Sunday, September, 6, 2020. Beloved wife of the late James, much loved mum of Isabel and the late Nicholas, proud grandmother of Matthew, Pamela, Archie and Geordie, mother-in-law to Linda, friend and teacher to many. Private service in accordance with current restrictions to be held at Tobermory Cemetery at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
SEMPLE – Suddenly but peacefully after a brave battle, on September 10, 2020 at the Beatson Hospital, Glasgow, Callum Semple in his 62nd year, Caliglen, Southend, beloved son of Elizabeth and the late Richard, loving dad of Callum, Allan, Iain, Rebecca and Andrew, devoted grandad to Liam, Callum, Cara-Louise and Lexi-Jane, much loved brother, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle and a friend to many. Simply The Best. Funeral service private in line with current government guidelines. Callum’s funeral will take place on Friday, September 18 at 1pm. The funeral cortege will leave Callum’s office in Longrow, Campbeltown at 11:45am, travelling along Aqualibrium Avenue, round the Cross and up Main Street on the way to the family home. We will leave the family home in Southend at 1pm travelling through the village to Keil Cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their last respects may do so anywhere on our route. Please remember to observe social distancing.
WILLIAMS – Peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at home. Walter Williams (Pat), aged 90 years. A much loved husband of Christina Williams (Ena), loving dad of John and Jean, father-in-law to Colin. Much loved granddad to Niall and Dominic. Loving brother to Dorothy, Sandy and the late Robert. Devoted uncle and friend to many. Funeral has already taken place on the island of Colonsay.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
KNOX – The family of the late George Knox wish to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends and neighbours for the love, care and compassion shown by them and the many cards, flowers and visits since his passing. Our heartfelt thanks to them all. A very special thank you to Rev Richard Baxter and Rev Morag Muirhead for their words of comfort and prayers at the graveside. Thanks to Andrew Orr for his beautiful piping. Sincere thanks to Manson & MacBeath Funeral Directors for going above and beyond with their support and compassion in all aspects of the funeral arrangements. Many thanks to all the staff at Moss Park Care Home who cared for George in his final years. Lastly we would like to thank all who paid their respects at the roadside during George’s final journey to Glen Nevis.
QUINN – The family of the late Sandra Quinn would like to thank all relatives and friends for cards and flowers following their recent bereavement. Thanks to Fr James, Fr David and Deacon Thomas Wynne for the comforting service. Special thanks to Catriona and staff at Hamish Hoey and Son for efficient funeral arrangements.
SHIELDS – After the sad loss of Robert, those closest to him wish to thank, most sincerely, all the medical staff and carers who have looked after Robert over the years. From all the doctors and staff at Lorn Medical Centre, the doctors and staff at Lorn and Islands Hospital and all the carers who have cared for him in his own home. Also, all his friends and neighbours who have looked in on him over the years. Thank you all for your loving care. Finally thank you to everyone who made a donation in Robert’s memory to the Oban Hospice. A total of £600.00 was raised.
