CREBA – Carol Ann (Rundell) passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020 at Treliske Hospital, Truro. Beloved wife of Stanley, mother of Paul, Elizabeth and the late Andrew, devoted granny and great-granny, sister and sister-in-law and aunt, who will be sadly missed by all.
FAIRBAIRNS – Richard Fairbairns of Mull died peacefully at home on August 19, 2020, surrounded by family. A long life lived with gusto. RIP Big Man. You will be deeply missed.
KNOX – Peacefully at Moss Park Nursing Home on August 28, 2020, George Knox of Rosedene Cottage, Argyll Terrace. Beloved husband to Phyllis, loving dad to Alan, grandpa, great-grandpa and a dear friend to many, will be sadly missed by all.
LINDSAY – Edith (Edie) – (née Maclaren). Peacefully on August 26, 2020 at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley. Mum to Fiona and Kenny and Granny to Angus. Will be sadly missed by friends and family.
MACINNES – Very suddenly at home, aged 58 years, Malcolm, (Malky), devoted partner of the late Hazel, son of the late Kenneth and Mary MacInnes, loving brother to Catherine and brother-in-law to Callum. A very proud uncle, great-uncle and a good friend to many. Cortège will leave Kilbrandon Parish Church (date to be confirmed), with a private interment at Kilbrandon Cemetery, in accordance with current Covid-19 restrictions.
MACVEAN – Peacefully at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead on August 31, 2020, Alasdair John MacVean, aged 87 years of Dalvore, Kilmichael Glassary, by Lochgilphead (Formerly of the Stag Garage). Dearly loved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) MacDonald. Loving father of John, Angus, Peter, Elizabeth and Eric. Cherished brother of Mary MacKellar. A dear brother in law, uncle and cousin to all the family. A good neighbour and very dear friend to many. A private funeral service will be held at Achnabreac Cemetery, Lochgilphead on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 12 noon. Donations can be made in Memory of Alasdair to Alzheimer’s Scotland and Cancer Research.
MOORE – Suddenly at Moss Park Care Home on August 27, 2020 Eric, aged 75 years, beloved husband of the late Lorna Moore, much loved dad, father-in-Law, grandad and great-grandad. Due to current restrictions a private cremation will take place at Cardross Crematorium. Eric will be sorely missed by all.
RITCHIE – Peacefully at home after a short illness in Gibbons, Alberta, Canada on August 26, 2020 William (Midge) aged 60, beloved husband of Mary, loving father of William, Scott, Andrew and Robbie, a much loved Grandpa, eldest son of Anne and William and dearest brother of Mary, (the late Adaliene), Elaine, Jennifer, Edwina, Archie and Stewart. Sadly missed by all.
SHIELDS – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on August 30, 2020, in his 78th year, Robert, beloved husband of Christine, a dearly loved uncle, friend and neighbour. A private funeral will take place in accordance with current government guidelines. For anyone wishing to pay their respects, while social distancing, the cortege will leave from Longsdale Crescent, Oban at 12.30 pm on Wednesday, September 9. It will proceed down Longsdale Road, Breadalbane Street, along George Street, down Stafford Street and along the Esplanade, before passing the Corran Halls and out to Pennyfuir. Robert requested that donations be made in his memory to Oban Hospice in lieu of flowers, should you wish to do so.
HUNTER – The family of Bill Hunter have been greatly upheld and comforted by the love, care and compassion shown by family, friends and neighbours during Bill’s long incapacity and the many expressions of sympathy by cards, flowers, phone calls and visits since his passing. Our heartfelt thanks to you all. Grateful thanks to the doctors and nurses at Craig Nevis Surgery, the district nurses and the cardiac nurse who all faithfully cared for Bill enabling him to remain at home. Sincere thanks to the carers from Care at Home and Crossroads who lovingly and respectfully attended to all Bill’s needs during his last three weeks. Thanks to the florists MacDonald Bros for the beautiful floral tributes arranged with such care and expertise. Grateful thanks to Donald MacAulay for his expert piping and to James Porter for his very moving farewell tribute from the Royal British Legion Scotland. A very special thank you to Rev Richard Baxter and Canon Gerald Kaye for words of comfort and Christian hope at the graveside. Sincere thanks to MacLellan Funeral Directors for support, compassion and professionalism in all aspects of funeral arrangements. Finally thank you to all who paid their respects along the village of Spean Bridge and at the graveside in Acharacle. Donations, if desired to Craig Nevis Surgery or Children 1st.
JORDAN – The family of the late Dolina Jordan wish to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends and neighbours for support and kind expressions of sympathy following their recent sad bereavement. Thanks also to Donald MacKinnon for a very comforting service at the graveside during very difficult times due to the many restrictions currently in place, to Catriona of Hamish Hoey and Son for efficient funeral arrangements, doctors, nurses and last but not least all carers who looked after Dolly day and night for many years, and to all who paid their last respects.
