At the start of the pandemic in March we took the decision to make online access to our news free of charge by taking down our paywall. At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. About 1am on August 24, at Lochnell Road, Dunbeg, a man, aged 39, allegedly behaved in an abusive manner. Police arrested and charged the man who was held for court and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 4pm on August 24, at William Street, Oban, a woman, 56, allegedly allowed her dog to be out of control resulting in it biting another woman. Police arrested and charged the woman and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Careless driving allegation
About 8pm on August 25, at Soroba Road, Oban, a 47-year-old man allegedly drove his car in a careless manner and thereafter behaved in a threatening manner. Police attended and the man was charged and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 1.15pm on August 26, at Albany Street, Oban, Police stopped and searched a man, 45, and a woman, 33, under the misuse of drugs act. The man was charged with obstructing the search. He was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of diamorphine. The woman was charged with supplying drugs and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Between 12.30am and 3.30am on August 26, at Glenshellach Terrace, Oban, a 25-year-old man allegedly assaulted a woman. He was arrested and charged and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 12.25pm on August 30, on the A85, at Arrivain, near Tyndrum, a motorcyclist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a 50-year-old man, was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About 1.10pm on August 30, on the A85, at Arrivain, near Tyndrum, a motorist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a woman, 34, was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
About midday on August 28, at Gribun, Isle of Mull, a section of water pipe supplying water to two cottages was stolen.
