Anti-social driving

A 20-year-old man has been issued with an anti-social behaviour warning after a white Peugeot van was seen to be driven at excessive speed at about 12.05am on Saturday August 8, on Main Street, Bowmore.

An ASBO warning is valid for 12 months and if the driver or the vehicle is involved in a similar anti-social driving incident again within that period, the vehicle will be seized by police. The vehicle will only be returned to the owner on production of proof of ownership and payment of the recovery/storage fees.

Vandalism

Between 7pm on August 9 and 7am on August 10, the former Sea Life Sanctuary building at Barcaldine was broken into and vandalised. Police are investigating.

Reported

About 5.55pm on August 10, near to the A828 at Barcaldine, a 61-year-old man allegedly behaved in a manner which caused others distress and alarm. Police attended and the man was arrested and charged with the offence. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Charged

About 1.50am on August 11, at Sinclair Drive, Oban, a 39-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of cannabis. The man was charged and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalism

About 9.30pm on August 13, at Drummore Road, Oban, a Blue BMW car was damaged by having stones thrown at it. Police are investigating.

Held for court

About 9.30pm on August 14, in Powel Place, Connel, a man, 42, was arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner. The man was charged with the offences, held for court and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Speeding allegation

About 1.10pm on August 15, on the A85, near Tyndrum, a motorcyclist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The 36-year-old man was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Arrested

About 11.15pm on August 15, in Stevenson Street, Oban, a man, 33, was arrested for allegedly assaulting another man. The man was charged with the offence and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Abusive Behaviour

About 12.30am on August 16, in George Street, Oban, a 19-year-old man was arrested for behaving in an abusive manner. The man was charged and issued with a Recorded Police Warning.

Threat allegation

About 10.30pm on August 12, at Main Street, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, a 33-year-old man allegedly behaved in an abusive manner and made threats with a weapon. Police attended and the man was arrested and charged and held for court. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Pipe damaged

A water pipe was damaged at a property at Ballachmore, Gribun, Isle of Mull, between August 1 and August 12. Police are investigating.

Failed to stop

Between 9am and 11am on August 16, in Main Street, Tobermory, a blue-coloured Yamaha R6 motorcycle, had its mirror, headlamp and rear storage box damaged by another vehicle which failed to stop and report the collision. Police are investigating.
