Oban’s volunteer lifeboat crew has helped a yacht with engine failure stranded off Craignure in the Sound of Mull.

Lifeboat ‘Mora Edith MacDonald’ was requested to launch on Tuesday by the UK Coastguard at 3pm to assist the stricken vessel.

Once at the scene, a line was passed to the yacht and the lifeboat towed it back to Oban where it was safely secured to a mooring.

By 5pm the lifeboat was back at the station and ready for its next call.
