Lochaber Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that we are rolling out a new web app to help local businesses manage the customer contact details requested by the Scottish Government’s Test & Protect  programme.

This new online app uses our well-known ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’ brand and offers businesses an easy-to-use and secure way to manage customer contract-tracing information. Businesses simply log in and create a business account, which gives them their businesses’ unique code (plus a free pack of table displays and posters ready to print).

Customers who visit, simply read the QR Code on using their smartphone camera or input a 4-digit code displayed at the venue, input the requested  information and then check in easily and securely each time they enjoy a meal, coffee or a drink out at different establishments.

The new app makes it easy for businesses to keep track of the information they’ve been asked to collect, and easy for customers as it’s simple to do and they can be confident that their information is being managed securely.

If a venue is contacted by NHS about a person who has visited their venue, a business will make a simple request via an integrated dashboard to Lochaber Chamber of Commerce which will provide the NHS with the customer information requested.

The chamber has already run a pilot scheme with Nevis Range and The Moorings Hotel over the weekend and we’re delighted to report that it is working well and is easy to use. It will go live to the business community this week, with other establishments already signing up.

This service is FREE to use for all Lochaber businesses. If you’d like to make use of the service simply go to protect.outdoorcapital.co.uk to get started. We’re more than happy to come out to give you and your staff a demo of how it works. If you have any queries please contact us on protect@lochaberchamber.co.uk
