MACDONALD – Hugh Alexander, late of Caol and Fort William, passed away recently in Hempstead, Kent. Dearly beloved husband of Brenda, his devoted wife for fifty three years and adored son of the late Veena and Jackie (ex Macbraynes driver) of Fort William. Cherished brother of Liz and treasured dad of Alison and Iain and doting grandad (Abuelo) to his vivacious Nieta (granddaughter) Karla. Much respected brother-in-law to John (JC) and dear son-in-law to Alan (Yardie) his dearest and loving family friend Jorge from Albufeira is remembered with much affection. Although Hugh did not live in Scotland during his adult life, his heart will forever remain in the Highlands. Hugh’s departure has left a huge hole in our lives but leaves many fun-filled memories to be shared by all. A private funeral will be held near his home in Kent.
MACGILLIVRAY – Peacefully at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, Catherine (Cathie), of Lochgoilhead and Acharacle on June 29, 2020, aged 91 years. Dear sister to Nan and much loved auntie to all her nieces and nephews.
NICHOL – Peacefully on July 1, 2020, Mary, aged 75 years, of Clarkston and Kintra, Mull. Daughter of the late Aliena and John McCallum. Beloved wife of Jim, much loved mother to Catriona and Lorna. Devoted gran to Myles, Alex, Lucy and Jamie. Dear mother-in-law to Ken and Euan. Interment, Mearns Cemetery, East Renfewshire.
MANSON – Margaret (née Aitchison), aged 97, from Mallaig, died peacefully in the tender care of Abbeyfield House, Ballachulish on Saturday, July 4, 2020. A much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Beloved wife of the late William John Manson MBE. The funeral will take place at the Old Morar Cemetery on Wednesday, July 15 at 2.00pm, in accordance with current restrictions.
ROSS – Ian Ross (Ninnie), Wendy, Susan-Jane, Pamela and Judith would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all relatives, friends, Railway Club Bowlers, and neighbours for the many expressions of sympathy and support on the sad passing of Helen Ross. The family would also like to express their appreciation to Tweevddale Surgery, the GPs and the district nurses who enabled Helen to pass in her own home surrounded by her family. Sincere thanks also to Manson & MacBeath Funeral Directors and Reverend Richard Baxter for their care and professionalism during this difficult time. A total of £1,270 was raised for Macmillan Nurses Lochaber in Helen’s memory.
TINDALL – The family of Maurice Tindall would like to thank all the relatives, friends and neighbours for all the kind messages of sympathy, cards, flowers, baking and phone calls following our very sad loss of a loving husband, dear father and devoted papa. Special thanks to Rev. James Beaton for the comforting words at the graveside and to Catriona Hoey for all her help with the funeral arrangements at this difficult time.
