Damage to farm building

Between midday on Monday June 1 and 10am on Wednesday June 3 on farm land at Tigh Cargaman, Port Ellen, stonework was damaged to a building.  Police are investigating.

Damage to vehicle

Between 7pm and 7.30pm on Monday July 6, near the Co-op Store, at Main Street, Bowmore, Isle of Islay, the driver’s door of a grey Fiat 500 car was scratched. Police are investigating.

Between 3.15pm and 4.45pm on Monday July 6 within a car park at Cattlemans, Islay House Square, Isle of Islay, the driver side of a black Volkswagen Golf was scratched. Police are investigating.

Cannabis

About midnight on Tuesday July 7, police searched a house at Aros Close, Oban. A 21-year-old man was allegedly found to be in possession of and cultivation of cannabis. The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Arrested

About 1.30pm on Tuesday July 7 near to Lerags Road, Oban, a man, 75, allegedly behaved in an abusive manner. The man was arrested and charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Air weapon licence

About 8.30pm on Monday July 6 at Jarvisfiled Road, Salen, Isle of Mull, an 82-year-old man allegedly was in possession of an air weapon without a licence. Police attended and seized the weapon and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Driving without licence allegation

About 9am on Monday June 29 at George Street, Oban, police stopped a vehicle and the 32-year-old male driver allegedly did not hold a valid licence or insurance. The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Charged

About 8pm on Thursday July 9 at Gallanach Road, Oban, two men, aged 34 and 35, were allegedly fighting with each other. Police attended, both men were charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Drugs search

About 10pm on Thursday July 9 at Colonsay Terrace, Oban, police searched a house where a man, 28, was allegedly found to be in possession of cannabis. The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Report submitted

About 1.30pm on Saturday July 11 at Tweedale Street, Oban, a 32-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman allegedly behaved in an abusive manner. Police attended both were arrested and charged with the offence. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Theft

About 4am on Saturday July 11 at Shore Street, Oban, an item of cookware was stolen from a local restaurant. Police were called and subsequently traced a woman, 45, who stole the item. The item was recovered and the woman was charged and issued with a Recorded Police Warning.

Speeding allegation

About 5pm on Saturday July 11 at the A82, near Bridge of Orchy, a motorist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a man, 25, was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

About 6.30pm on Sunday July 12 at the A85, near Arrivian, Dalmally, a motorist was stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a man, 37, was charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Threatening behaviour

Between 9am and 10.30am on Monday July 6 near Eas Brae, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, a man, 74, allegedly behaved in a threatening manner and stole a set of car keys. The man was arrested and later cautioned and charged with the offences and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalism

Between 7pm on Sunday July 5 and 9am on Monday July 6 within woodland near to Eyrie Road, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, a set of ladders were damaged. Police are investigating.

Housebreaking

Between 7pm on Thursday July 9 and 10am on Friday July 10 at Ardmor Road, Salen, Isle of Mull, boat lifting equipment was stolen from a property. Police are investigating.

Police Assault

About 6pm on Tuesday July 7 on a road near to Vaul, Isle of Tiree, police responded to a vehicle which had driven off the road and become stuck. The 57-year-old male driver allegedly became aggressive and assaulted the attending officer and was arrested for assault and alleged drunk driving. The man subsequently failed to provide a breath specimen at the police station and was charged. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
