Police and firefighters were joined by a recovery vehicle after an incident in Fort William on Tuesday morning when a Volkswagen 4×4 came off a muddy woodland path at the town’s Cow Hill.

Photographer Iain Ferguson was on hand to capture the scene and the car can be seen on the hill behind the town’s swimming pool and above the local dental surgery, with its front wheels dangling precariously above a 15-foot drop.

Police Scotland said no one was injured and enquiries were ongoing to ‘establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident’.
