Craig Lodge at Dalmally has initiated a new prayer campaign in the lead up to Pentecost.
The movement, inspired by the famous Isle of Lewis Revival back in 1949, was started by a group of young Catholics from the lodge.
‘It’s a call to pray over the nine days to Pentecost for a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Scotland,’ said a spokesperson for the group.
Awakening Scotland organisers want people to help spread the word by sharing a video from their website at www.scotlandawakening.com/and tag #scotlandawakening on social media from 6pm today, May 21.
‘We desire this campaign to have the maximum impact possible. By synchronising our efforts, we will be able to flood the airways with the declaration that God’s time for Scotland is now!’ said the Awakening Scotland spokesperson.
The Lewis Revival saw people flocking to church and turning back to God. The hope of Scotland Awakening is that the whole nation would experience renewal through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Scotland Awakening has invited families and households, church groups and online communities of all Christian denominations to all join together in prayer.
Their idea was welcomed by Nicky Gumbel, the founder of the Alpha Course who has also recorded a prayer for the campaign.
