At a time where accurate information about Covid-19 was vital to our community, this was the right decision – even though it meant a drop in our income. MAY – MACDONALD – At St. Columba’s Argyll Square Church, on March 29, 1960 by the late Rev. William MacDonald, Ivor to Betty.
CAMPBELL – Christine Ruby (née Matheson), passed away peacefully at home in White Cairn, Taynuilt on March 24, 2020 after a courageous fight against illness. Beloved wife of Alasdair and loving mum to Gemma and David. Loving mother-in-law to Charlotte, cherished granny to David, Poppy, Evan and Tommy. Dearest sister to John and loved and respected sister-in-law to Jane and Jennifer. A loving niece, aunty, cousin, cherished friend and respected colleague. Ruby will be greatly missed by all. In line with Government restrictions a family only funeral has taken place. All family and friends will be invited to a memorial service for Ruby at a later date.
LENNOX – Thomas (Tom), formerly of Dalrigh, Oban, passed away peacefully at Luncarty Care Home on Monday, March 23, 2020, aged 100. Beloved husband of the late Mary (née Munro) and dearly loved dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral private.
McLEOD – Suddenly at Struan Lodge Residential Home on Saturday, March 28, 2020, Kenneth, loving son of the late Kenneth and Mary McLeod (Strachur) and a much loved brother, uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law and dear friend to many. Will be sadly missed by all. Due to the current restrictions there will be a graveside service for family only at Strachur Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
MACNEILL – Cathie, passed away peacefully at her home in Scarinish, Isle of Tiree on March 24, 2020, in her 94th year. Interred in Sorobay Cemetery, Balinoe on March 27, 2020. Sadly missed.
SCOULAR – Peacefully at home in Lochaline on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Alistair, in his 93rd year. A loving husband to the late Katie, a dearly loved dad to Karen and Johnny, a special father-in-law to Teen, a treasured granda to Claire and David, and a very proud great-granda to Katie, Finlay and Calum. A dear friend to so many. Due to current circumstances, a private family funeral has been held, and a celebration of Alistair’s life will follow at a later date. A life well-lived is a legacy of joy and pride and pleasure, a living, lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure.
SIMPSON – (Kingswells/Strathglass). Peacefully at home on Saturday, March 28, 2020, David George Menzies Simpson, 2 Derbeth Manor, Kingswells, Aberdeen, aged 76 years, former Project Manager, avid shinty stalwart, also keen supporter of Aberdeen Football Club. Much loved husband to Kathleen, dearly loved father to Karen, Graeme and Calum, father-in-law to Ian and Jenny, treasured grandpa to Niall, Euan and Morven, dear brother, uncle and a great friend of many. Funeral service on Monday, April 6 at 12 noon in the funeral home of William T. Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness, thereafter to rest in the tranquil surroundings of Fasnakyle Burial Ground. Due to Government guidelines family only.
WATT – Jeanette (née Fraser). Peacefully at home in Ballachulish surrounded by her family on March 29, 2020. Much loved wife of Robert and loving sister to Rosalin, beloved mother to Peter and Morag, mother-in-law to Alan and Joan, loving granny to Caroline and great-granny to Cian. Greatly admired and respected by many good friends.
CAMERON – Ewen and family would like to thank family and friends for their expressions of sympathy by way of letters, cards and calls. The family wish to relay our gracious thanks to Dr Flaven and Dr Lawler of Cill Chuimein Medical Centre and the health workers for their kindness and support whilst nursing Catherine at home and during her stay in Raigmore. Special thanks to Glengarry Shinty Club players and friends who pulled together at short notice to make the funeral possible. Thank you to Alan Smurthwaite, Celebrant for his thoughtful kind words.
