British Legion organisers of VE 75 Celebrations on Seil says coronavirus has postponed the party – not cancelled it.

Retired squadron leader Lorraine Reynolds who was the administrator for a planned big event and swing band night on behalf of the Easdale branch of RBL Scotland has asked people to save a space in their diaries for later in the year.

‘A lot of hard work and planning had already gone in to it. We’d been overwhelmed by the generosity of people, had great prizes lined up for the raffle and invites accepted from local dignitaries but after much deliberation we had to postpone if for now.

‘There’s still a chance we could have it on VJ Day in mid-August but we’re holding on to announcing a date for now. Let’s just say when all this is over we’ll be having one big party,’ she said.
