Keeping customers smiling on Seil ‘ain’t no 9 to 5 job for Balvicar shopkeeper Wendy Dugdale.
A blonde Dolly Parton wig was all it took to get Wendy strutting her stuff in one of her latest Facebook posts that are going viral.
Her cover of Queen’s I Want To Break Free, dressed as a nun, also got more than 1,000 hits.
And she has been dancing in the aisles of Balvicar Stores and Post Office with the family’s pet dog called Star.
‘It’s just for a laugh. There’s lots of people needing cheering up out there so I thought I’d do something to make them smile. I’ve always loved dancing,’ said Wendy.
‘Someone asked me how long I was going to keep up the daily dances and I said it would last as long as the requests for more keep coming in,’ she grinned.
Wendy has been hailed a community hero for keeping Seil entertained and topped up with supplies during the coronavirus crisis but she says thanks should also go to all the volunteers, including the ‘Seafari Girls’ who are helping drop off deliveries to the doors of those who are self-isolating and unable to get to the shop themselves.
