People are being asked to clap for carers in a united show of thanks tonight.

The Clap For Carers idea wants people to stand outside their homes or in doorways, on balconies, wherever it is safe to do so, and give a massive round of applause for NHS workers and all the care and key staff braving coronavirus to keep communities healthy.

The time is 8pm and if you are taking part, we at The Oban Times would love to see any photos or video footage you take of your street getting involved in the mega thanks giving.

With 500,000 people now signed up to be NHS volunteers, The Oban Times would also like to hear if you are one of them. Send us a selfie and a few words telling us your story and why you have stepped forward.

You can contact us by emailing, message us on Facebook or call 01631 568000.
