A man pulled from the water in the Kyle of Lochalsh area on the afternoon of Tuesday February 18 was later pronounced dead at Broadford Hospital on Skye.

The man is reported to have been working on a marine site when he fell from a vessel into Loch Alsh, near Balmacara slipway, shortly before 4pm on the day in question.

Kyle RNLI lifeboat and a Coastguard helicopter were also called to the scene to assist.

Police say they are liaising with the relevant authorities including the Marine Accident Investigation Branch to establish the circumstances, but the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
